Mechanical Pressure Switches
Viper — Operation
-
CO2 Sold Out Switch
The CO2 sold out switch is located on the high side port for the CO2 secondary regulator for the expansion tanks. The CO2 sold out switch is visually
identified by a Gray dot between the wire terminals. The switch cut-in pressure is 64psig and the cut-out pressure is 55psig. The switch is wired normally open. At 64psi the switch is closed and at 55psi the switch is open.
-
Water Sold Out Switch
The water pressure sold out switch is located on the outlet side of the water pump.
The water Sold Out switch is visually identified by a Blue Dot between the wire terminals
The switch cut-in pressure is 76psig and the cut-out pressure is 45psig. The switch is wired normally open. At 76psi the switch is closed and at 45 psi the switch is open.
-
Syrup Sold Out Switch
The syrup sold out switches are located just before the syrup flow control for each freeze barrel.
The Syrup sold out switch is visually identified by a Red dot between the wire
terminals. The switch cut-in pressure is 55psig and the cut-out pressure is 48psig. The switch is wired normally open. At 55psi the switch is closed and at 48 psi the switch is open.

Barrel Fill Switch – Older Units
Older version Vipers were manufactured with mechanical barrel fill switches instead of pressure transducers.
The old mechanical barrel fill switch is visually identified by a Yellow dot
between the wire terminals. The mechanical switch cut-in pressure was 23psig and the cut-out pressure was 28psig. If the Viper is experiencing a lot of errors (freeze-ups, ice blocks, improper filling, etc.), it is recommended upgrading to pressure transducers. Barrel transducer upgrade kits are available for legacy Vipers and are backwards compatible. It is recommended while upgrading to transducers to also upgrade the Viper to the mini-expansion tanks if not already done.
