Viper — Installation
-
Power Cord
All Viper units come pre wired with a power cord from the factory and will require a dedicated 230 Vac, 60Hz, single-phase circuit. A two flavor Viper is equipped with a NEMA L-620P plug and will require a 20 amp dedicated circuit with an L-620R receptacle. Three and four flavor Vipers are equipped with a NEMA L-630P plug and will require a 30 amp dedicated circuit with an L-630R receptacle. The Vipers recommended operating voltage range is 215 volts to 245 volts. If the incoming voltage to the unit is lower than 200 VAC you will receive a LOW VOLTAGE EROR, if the incoming voltage is above 260VAC you will receive a HIGH VOLTAGE ERROR and the Viper will shut down displaying an error message.

Buck-N-Boost Transformer
If the supply voltage at the wall outlet is under 215VAC, it is recommended that the Viper be installed with the Buck and Boost transformer (pn 620067479) to ensure that proper operating voltage is maintained when the refrigeration system and barrel motors are all running.
A Buck-N-Boost Transformer gives you the ability to increase or decrease the incoming supply voltage by 16 or 32Vac depending on the incoming supply voltage. The Buck and Boost transformer is only supplied with three and four flavor Vipers and is pre-wired to increase in the incoming line voltage by 16Vac. The BNB plugs directly into the wall and the Viper plugs directly into the BNB.
Note: Check your wall voltage and BNB output voltage to determine BNB wiring configuration. This will avoid any potential voltage issues.
