Quarterly Cleaning and Maintenance
IDC Pro Pocket Guide — Cleaning and Maintenance
-
Empty Ice
Note: Prior to removing power you will have to empty the ice. You can use a clean bucket to capture the ice through the ice chute or you can slowly pour warm water into the hopper to help melt the ice.
-
Remove Power and Clear Drain Trough
Quarterly Cleaning Procedures include the daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance procedures, in addition to cleaning and sanitizing the hopper. Prior to sanitizing the hopper, remove power from the IDC Pro and remove any debris from the drain trough.
-
Clean Cold Plate
Once the ice is melted, pour the warm water through the hopper opening to clean the cold plate.
-
Wash Down Hopper
Then wash down the surfaces of the hopper from top to bottom, using a soft cloth soaked with warm soapy water.
For manual-fill ice units, wipe down the hopper cover with warm soapy water. Rinse the cold plate with warm potable water.
For manual ice units, also rinse the hopper cover with warm potable water.
-
Sanitize Hopper
Spray the upper and lower cold plate access areas with sanitizing solution and let the IDC Pro air dry.
Rinse the cold plate surfaces by slowly pouring leftover sanitizer solution through the hopper opening.
